Who’ll help the little guy? Behind the scenes on Safe Financial’s new social experiment video

This month Safe Financial took to the streets to shoot a video that seeks to answer a question close to our heart – who’ll help the little guy? And the answers we uncovered are now on YouTube for all to see. For the revealing social experiment, we cast an actor as the ‘Little Guy’ and took him to four Gold Coast suburbs surrounding our national headquarters. His back-story? He’s lost his wallet and is late for a job interview. Will shopping centre passers-by help him out for a bus fare? Three hidden cameras – including a 007-style ‘pen camera’ sitting in his top pocket! – recorded the action as our Little Guy interacted with the public. Our cameras captured beautiful acts of generosity, some warm apologies and some decidedly cool snubs – a great cross-section of responses. Some people happily lent him five and six dollars, while others happily turned their heads and kept walking! The results have been edited into a snappy viral video that runs less than two minutes and is viewable on our YouTube channel. So watch out, we’re looking at taking the Little Guy on the road and seeing how deep pockets are all over Australia. The Little Guy could be coming to your shopping centre any day now.
